Long Bio
Becca Crivello was born and raised in Westborough, Massachusetts. As an avid musician, she has been involved with choirs for over 15 years. In that time, she has evolved into an active choral educator, often participating in a variety of workshops and choral ensembles.
Becca received her B.M. in Music Studies (Education) summa cum laude from UMass Lowell with a concentration in voice and a Minor in Italian Studies. During her time at UMass Lowell, she arranged and performed an array of a cappella music, most notably with The Hawkettes, a female-identified a cappella group from the university that she founded and directed for 4 years. Upon the completion of her degree program, she received an award for Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Becca also holds her M.M. in Music Education from Boston University, where she received a Departmental Award in Music Education from the School of Music. As an active member of the College of Fine Arts, she was a Graduate Representative for the university’s NAfME chapter and a Collegiate Ambassador for the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Currently, Becca is the Choral Director at Hudson Memorial School, Hudson, New Hampshire, where she directs grades 6-8 choirs, teaches General Music, directs the extra-curricular Swing Choir, and is the director of the annual school musical. She sings with The Common Voice at UMass Lowell and most recently sung with New Hampshire Master Chorale. She is the Children's Choir Director at The First Church, Nashua which she directs the grade K-2 choir and grade 3-7 choir. Additionally, she is the Secretary and Commercial/Contemporary Repertoire & Resources Chair for the New Hampshire ACDA Chapter. She also is the founder and director of Embers: An Online Choral Collaborative, which connects passionate choral singers in an online format.
Recently, she was the Conducting Intern for Cappella Clausura, a professional choir based in Boston. Other professional ventures include her role as the director of The Saugus Sachimes, an award-winning co-ed a cappella group from Saugus High School, involvement with the Sarteano Chamber Choral Conducting Workshop, involvement with Choral Chameleon as a conductor, her membership to the American Choral Director’s Association, being a judge for both Varsity Vocal's ICCA and ICHSA Competition, and being a nominating judge for the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards
